Science – Plants Need Water.

Posted by eppsroom11 on December 7, 2010

We experimented to see if plants need water. We planted bean seeds and watered them regularly. We kept a diary of the way our plants grew. Mrs Scherer didn’t water her seeds, and they didn’t grow!

Here are our plants growing in the window of the classroom.

Our Writing Rubric Now! 9-9-10

Posted by eppsroom11 on September 9, 2010

We had a go at using our first Writing Rubric to assess our writing, and to help us set goals for more learning about writing. We found that our first rubric didn’t give us the kinds of information that would help us do further learning, so we constructed the rubric again. We have used our new one, and found it is very helpful for our learning as we can easily see the next steps to learn to improve our writing.

Here is our Writing Rubric now.

Science – Dissolving.

Posted by eppsroom11 on August 25, 2010

We experimented with using water for dissolving – we made red and green jellies. We used hot water, and stirred until the jelly crystals disappeared. Then we put the jellies in the fridge, and ate them when they were set. YUM!

Alyssa drew this picture of our jellies!
